I've got a long weekend ahead of me... with a couple of side projects going, plus a certification need I'm going to have to take care of, and the desire for some me-time, I'm really looking forward to it.
Hellboy is on the TV, I'm browsing art supplies, and I'm avoiding grading my Art History final essays at all costs. They will catch up with me by Monday, and then I have to grade another 50 in 24 hours next week when we do midterms. For all that plus the ton of other work I do for that class, I get a $450 "bonus." Gotta love it.
I applied for a job at Apple today- it was such a great looking position I couldn't help it. School has basically told me I don't have a job next year, unless I certify in another area. I am going to do the certification I need, but now I am on the hunt for an employer who will truly be able to value what I have to offer without getting caught up in red tape and lack of funds, which has been the story of my life as an art teacher.
